Welcome. I believe there can be times in most people’s lives when they find themselves dealing with a difficult situation, struggling to manage their emotions, or facing personal adversity. Everyday life can present a variety of challenges, such as relationship or work-related issues, grief, stress, anxiety, or a sense of hopelessness. People can find themselves struggling to communicate or grappling to understand the impact their past experiences have on their present day. At times like these, having someone independent, such as a counsellor, to talk to can be helpful.

I aim to offer clients a safe, warm, empathic and non-judgemental space to uncover their feelings and explore their choices. By working therapeutically with you, I hope to support you in understanding why things feel difficult and explore your questions while getting to know yourself better and building your sense of self-worth. Through the relationship we create and the work we will do together, I hope you can identify any changes you wish to make to find renewed strength, self-acceptance and a positive way forward. I believe that building a trusting, honest relationship with your therapist is central to this process.

My Practice and the Way I Work.

Each of us is unique, and I will, therefore, work with your specific needs, tailoring our work accordingly enabling you to make the most of our time together. The relationship between you and I is crucial to this process, and I will work with warmth, openness, acceptance, and honesty to build a sense of safety and trust between us. I hope this will enable you to explore what matters, even when it may feel hard. We will work through it together.

I am happy to adapt the way I work to meet your needs. If you have any concerns, worries, or sensory issues or would like me to consider particular matters when working with you, I encourage you to raise this with me as soon as possible. If I can adapt my practice to meet your needs so you can get the most out of your therapy sessions, I will!

Availability

I offer Face to Face, Online and Telephone counselling.

I work with adults over the age of 18 years.

I work face to face on the following days and in the following locations.

Stowmarket on Monday

Ipswich on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Online and Telephone sessions - are also available between 8am - 7pm Monday to Wednesday.

Location

I practice from two locations in Suffolk, one in central Ipswich and one in the market town of Stowmarket

When you contact me, I can provide you with details of my therapy room locations and facilities.

Currently, the therapy rooms from which I work are both based on the first floor and are accessed via short flights of stairs, so unfortunately, they may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Online or telephone sessions may be an alternative in these circumstances.

There is ample public parking within a five-minute walking distance of both locations, and both are easily accessed by public transport via bus and train.

Experience and Areas Special of Interest

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for many years with a diverse range of people experiencing trauma and challenges. This work led me to develop a deep sense of compassion and an absolute belief in the ability of people to make changes in their lives given the right conditions and support. I believe that personal therapy can provide just the support needed and, for some, can be transformative.

I have significant experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse, substance misuse and/or the impact of crime.

I also have a particular interest in working with clients to understand and explore their neurodiversity and what it means for them.

I work with individuals facing various issues, including but not limited to.

Addiction | Loss/Bereavement | Depression | Adverse Childhood Experience | Trauma | Self Esteem | Identity | Neurodiversity Relationships | Family and Child Issues | Personal Development | Self Harm | Anxiety | Stress | Life challenge | Health Related Issues Men’s Issues | Work Related Issues | Women’s Issues | Anger Management | Depression
